There is no such thing as a purely environmental issue. This is certainly the case in Canada’s Arctic where environmental, social, cultural, political and economic issues are inextricably linked.
At the Vancouver Aquarium we are always working on ways to demonstrate those linkages. One important way of doing that is to allow people living, working and studying in the North to connect with our audiences directly – in their own words and voices.
Here’s Albert Elias, from Ulukhaktok, NWT, talking about how changes in the North have impacted him. It’s part of an ongoing series of video vignettes we call People of the North.
