On March 3rd, the Vancouver Aquarium’s Environmental Management System (EMS) passed its ISO 14001 re-registration audit, resulting in the re-certification of its EMS. A big “hooray” to our EMS team!

Earning this certification means a lot to us as it helps to confirm that the Aquarium’s Environmental Management System, the way we operate and the commitments we make are focused on reducing environmental impacts.

Over the years, our employees have continually reduced the amount of waste sent to landfill, searched for and substituted conventional chemicals with environmentally preferable ones, and worked with suppliers to green both the Aquarium’s operations and the suppliers.

We’re proud of the Aquarium’s focus on sustainability and the ISO 14001 designation helps to demonstrate our continuous commitment.
