On June 27, the Vancouver Aquarium will stay open late for a unique experience: After Hours, an adults-only evening.

After Hours is a fantastic opportunity to experience the Aquarium in a whole new way. While the kids are sleeping, adults enjoy the peace and tranquility of our galleries.

Visit our new Penguin Point exhibit and learn about African penguins. Interpretive staff will be on-site to offer penguin talks and answer your questions about these funny little characters. You will learn about why African penguins are endangered and what you can do to protect them.

During After Hours you will also discover some of the behind-the-scenes work happening daily at the Aquarium. Come and meet our experts such as Danny Kent, curator of B.C Waters. He will present two short Arctic cod research talks with fascinating images. After the presentations, there will be a Q and A session with Danny so that you can ask about this keystone species and understand why it plays a critical role within the Arctic ecosystem.

The event also includes hands-on learning at out Wet Lab. Get a first-hand glimpse of some of the animals that are featured in the education programs that take place at the Aquarium. Be prepared to get your hands a little wet in the process!

And don’t forget to smile… visit the Yelp! photobooth and get your picture taken. We will have fun backdrops and props for everyone to use.

Food, wine and beer will be available for purchase. Avoid disappointment and get your ticket now. Our last After Hours event sold out very quickly. Tickets are available here – but won’t be available at the door.

From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., you’re invited to visit us when there are no little ones around –well, except little penguins!

* This is a 19+ event. Photo ID required for entry.
NO tickets available at the door.
Alcohol is available ONLY with the purchase of food
