We are excited to announce that we hit a milestone today. For the first time in the history of Vancouver Aquarium, we celebrated our one millionth visitor. The lucky visitor, Andrew, received an experience-of-a-lifetime package, which includes a lifetime membership to the Aquarium, VIP access to 4-D theatre, complimentary lunch and a custom behind-the-scenes tour.
To kick start the celebration, our millionth guest was surprised with a special greeting by our interpretive team and volunteers.
“What an amazing surprise,” said Andrew, Vancouver Aquarium’s one millionth visitor of 2012. “I knew it would be an incredible day exploring the Aquarium, but this just makes it a truly spectacular one!”
Although the Aquarium hosts nearly one million visitors every year, this holiday season marks the first time our annual visitors exceeded the one million milestone.
As a self-supporting, non-profit society, Vancouver Aquarium visitors directly contribute to our extensive conservation, research and education programs. Every visit to our marine centre directly contributes to our conservation efforts, such as marine animal rescue and rehabilitation, killer whale research and national direct action programs like Ocean Wise™ and the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup™.
All this would not be possible without you – a huge thank you goes to our members and visitors for your constant support and for helping us conserve aquatic life.
