Our warm congratulations are shared with executive chef Pedro Gonzalez of Coast, a Glowbal group restaurant. Chef Gonzalez created a succulent wine-poached spot prawn with golden gazpacho, avocado salsa and Espellette oil paired with Mission Hill 2011 Reserve Riesling. The dish was fresh and unique and our judges couldn’t stop thinking about it. Well done, chef!

Look for the Ocean Wise symbol wherever you choose to enjoy seafood for Vancouver Aquarium’s assurance of an ocean-friendly choice. The free Ocean Wise iPhone app provides partner locations where you are, as well as recommendations for sustainable seafood choices. Ask your seafood suppliers and restaurants for their Ocean Wise choices, and if they’re not yet Ocean Wise, encourage them to join this important movement.
