We’re in the midst of the cherished B.C. spot prawn season – the perfect time to enjoy this sweet and succulent gem of our oceans. What’s a better way to celebrate these spot prawns than by holding a tasty contest?

For the first time ever, Vancouver Aquarium wine partner Mission Hill Family Estate and the Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise™ program is teaming up on a new spot prawn contest. Participating Ocean Wise restaurants in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island will put their culinary mastery to the test by cooking up their best spot prawn dish, which will be paired with a Mission Hill wine. The dish-wine pairings will be judged by a panel of well-known judges, who will then declare a contest winner.

What does this mean for you? You can support our participating Ocean Wise restaurants by visiting them during the contest, as a way to recognize their commitment to Ocean Wise. You can also enter to win a trip for two to Mission Hill Family Estate in Kelowna, including an Ocean Wise Culinary Workshop hosted by the winning chef. Visit this website to enter to win this exclusive, experiential prize.
