For creatures without faces, jellies sure are photogenic. To celebrate their captivating looks this summer, we’re giving you even more reasons to snap photos of these beautiful animals at our new Jelly Invasion exhibit. Showcase your best jelly photos for a chance to win the grand prize of an open-water Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) certification scuba course with the Edge Diving Centre and a DX-GE5 12 MP Sea & Sea waterproof camera and housing set from Oceaner.

With over 15 species of jellies on exhibit, it’s the perfect opportunity to take stunning photos of these fascinating animals or strike a pose in front of your favourite jelly exhibit. During July and August, share your jelly photos on Facebook and be entered to win weekly prizes, as well as three grand prizes that will help you take your aquatic photography to the next level.

Each week during the summer, we will randomly select two photos and award the photographers with a Discover Diving course from the Edge Diving Centre. In September, a panel of Aquarium judges will choose the top three photos from all of the submissions and award three fantastic prizes for first, second and third place.

The exciting prizes and their generous donors include:

  • Grand Prize: Open-water PADI certification scuba course with the Edge Diving Centre and a DX-GE5 12 MP Sea & Sea waterproof camera and housing set from Oceaner.
  • Second Place: Ultimate Day Tour for two; a whale-watching trip through the Gulf Islands from Prince of Whales.
  • Third place: Rainforest Tour for two; a guided kayak trip and hike around Stanley park with Ecomarine.
  • Weekly Prizes:  Discover Diving course with the Edge Diving Centre.
