The Aquarium is excited to announce a unique travel experience in 2015. Journeys with Heart, a program initiated by John Bishop, owner of Ocean Wise partner restaurant Bishop’s, will travel to the glorious South Pacific in February 2015. The trip, a fundraising tour for the Aquarium, will visit Tahiti, Bora Bora, the Society Islands, Moorea, Rangiroa and more.
Chef Bishop will prepare a meal for the group and Jean-Michel Cousteau, renowned French explorer and environmentalist, will be sharing his extensive experience with ocean conservation. Rangiroa is home to the world’s second largest lagoon and is known for its fantastic diving – chances are very good that guests will encounter rays, sharks, dolphins and myriad small reef fish. The trip will take place on the luxurious Paul Gaugin.
We are very pleased to partner once again with Chef Bishop – Bishop’s restaurant has long been an Ocean Wise partner and the establishment is widely renowned for its regional and seasonal food.
The opportunity to explore this remote and exotic part of the world with Jean-Michel Cousteau provides an unparalleled opportunity to learn about this unique ecosystem. Son of legendary explorer Jacques Cousteau, Jean-Michel has dedicated himself to communicating his love and concern for our watery planet with people of all nations and generations. In 1999, he founded the Ocean Futures Society, whose mission is to explore the world’s oceans, inspiring and educating people throughout the world to act responsibly for its protection.
