If you’ve visited our newly expanded building this summer, you’ve probably seen our giant globe, experienced our new educational and interactive programs or even spent some time in the newly designed Clownfish Cove, but have you tried the new café yet?
The staff at the Café and Coffee Bar are waiting for your visit – and so is our new chef! “I believe in creating foods that are simple but well done,” says Tim Bedford, Vancouver Aquarium’s new executive chef. “I like to make as much in house as we can, from burger patties to chicken strips. This insures quality, fresh, healthy food offerings for our visitors.”
For a full meal, you can visit the Café between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and try our new fall menu. All the favourites are still available. Cheeseburger anyone? We now offer gluten-free buns. Other feature items from our new fall menu include the Ocean Wise™ spicy Thai albacore tuna wrap and our hand-breaded Ocean Wise™ fish and chips. If you’re an Aquarium member be sure to show your card for 20 per cent off your purchase.
If you’re looking for a quick bite or a way to skip the line, you can visit the Coffee Bar open until 4:30 p.m. daily throughout the fall and winter. To start your visit in the morning, order a pumpkin latte with one of our in house-made baked goods, including biscotti, scones and muffins. For a healthy lunch option, try one of our freshly-made salads, such as the Moroccan spiced Chickpea Salad, and for an adult treat, order a glass of our Mission Hill red or white house wine or the Stanley Park “Nobel Pilsner” beer.
Once you have your order in hand, settle into our new indoor seating area or take advantage of a sunny day in our Ocean Courtyard seating area – an ideal spot to take in the beauty of Stanley Park.
