Vancouver Aquarium Street Banners
Vancouver Aquarium Street Banners

UPDATE: All banners are now SOLD OUT. Thank you to everyone who donated to the Aquarium!

To celebrate the opening of its largest expansion in history, the Vancouver Aquarium is offering its one of-a-kind street banners that were vibrantly displayed on Granville Street Bridge during the month of August. In the past, the Aquarium recycled or donated these banners to ensure that they were diverted from the waste stream but due to popular demand this year, we wanted locals to share in this special part of their history.

The first 100 people to come forward can choose between a sea horse, octopus or jellyfish. A minimum donation of $20 is suggested in order to help fund research, education and conservation programs at the Vancouver Aquarium.

To reserve your limited edition Vancouver Aquarium banners, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Visit the Vancouver Aquarium online and go to the Donate Now page.

Step 2: Choose your donation amount. In the designation drop down area choose “Street Banner.” If there is a specific banner you would like, please be sure to include it in the comments section below. All banners are on a first come, first serve basis. Please note, there will be no tax receipt will be provided.

Step 3: Stop by the Vancouver Aquarium reception desk starting Monday September 8 through Friday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday 9:30 am to 3:00 pm with a copy of your email receipt to pick up your pair of Vancouver Aquarium banners.

  1. I donated for a banner earlier this morning but forgot to put my choice. I would like any one of the beautiful banners. Thanks Vancouver Aquarium for this opportunity!

  2. Hi! I just made a donation. I would like to reserve the pair of octopus banners. If they are sold out, then the seahorse banners please. When can I come to pick them up?

  3. I am so excited about this!! An opportunity to have these banners is such an awesome idea. I have donated and requested the seahorses. I was even more excited to see that they are given in pairs. I am also so excited that I made the contribution before you were all out of them. Thanks for this new way to be a part of the Vancouver Aquarium. I have been a member for many years and have had a family membership for the last few years. My family is multigenerational members. I will be in next week to pick them up. Thanks again.

  4. Hi again,
I have made a 2nd donation, and would like “octopus” this time. Thank you!
{So one “jelly fish” and one “octopus”]

  5. I just made a donation for two octopus banners, 1 arm and 1 head, but mistakenly selected Marine Mammal Rescue as the designation. Duh… helps to read the directions first! Will this still go through to reserve two octopus banners for me? Sorry for the confusion.

  6. I made a note of my seahorse banner preference in the comments section, but it is not noted on the e-mail receipt. Is it still recorded?

  7. I just made a donation & was looking to get 3 banners as gifts for family. It looked like I needed to donate 3 times, or am I wrong?
Also, can my family pick them up, as I live on Vancouver Island?

    1. Hi Jennifer, yes donating three times is the best way to ensure that we will have three separate banner pairs set aside for you. Simply email your banner receipts to the family member who is picking them up and then let our receptionist know who they are for. Thank you for supporting the Aquarium!

  8. Are the banners reserved once we donate? I won’t be able to get there until next week, but would love to take advantage of this opportunity!

  9. Hi there. Can you please tell me the name of the artist who created the banner art? thanks so much! The artwork is so beautiful!
