Since the earliest days of civilization, humans have endeavoured to explore the underwater world. The 16th annual Divers’ Weekend taking place Jan. 17 and 18 at the Vancouver Aquarium will explore this age old fascination by highlighting underwater archaeology and the history of diving.

Divers and non-divers alike are invited to join us to explore our corner of the underwater world during a visit to one of the world’s best Aquariums. This family-friendly event will feature a diving seminar series and activities in the galleries for kids. There will be informative exhibits by diving organizations and businesses from across Vancouver mainland, including Burnaby’s Ocean Quest Dive Centre.

“We attend the Vancouver Aquarium’s Divers’ Weekend every year. It’s a great opportunity to share our passion and knowledge of the underwater world with the general public. People are always very engaged and interested to learn more about our underwater explorations,” said Burnaby’s Ocean Quest owners Greg and Deirdre McCracken.

We’ll also be welcoming back Heritage Hard Hat Divers, who will be displaying their collection of rare, vintage dive gear. They will also be putting on diving demonstrations highlighting ‘old school’ hard hat dive suits.

Certified divers receive 50 per cent off Aquarium admission or 10 per cent off an Aquarium membership with a valid diver certification card during Divers’ Weekend.
