Night At The Aquarium, our premier fundraising event of the year, is always a chance to celebrate ocean conservation, education and research in style. But this June, there’s another reason to party: the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre is turning 60!
Join us on June 23 to celebrate this momentous milestone with a night of dining and dancing in the Aquarium’s enchanting and intimate setting. One of Vancouver’s premier philanthropic events of the year, Night At The Aquarium features sumptuous eats from Ocean Wise chefs, a sophisticated selection of B.C. wine, live music and an exciting live and silent auctions with all proceeds going to support our conservation, education and research efforts.
To kick off the evening, guests will be treated to an elegant reception on our B.C. Wild Coast deck with appetizers provided by the Fairmont Pacific Rim Lounge and Raw Bar. Next, the soiree continues with a six-course seated dinner in our spectacular galleries featuring local, sustainable and delectable food from B.C.’s top chefs, including Chris Whitaker from Forage, Rob Clarke from the Fish Counter, Ned Bell from Yew Four Seasons and James Walt from Araxi in Whistler, and Frank Pabst from Blue Water.
Make sure to bring your dancing shoes, as perennial Vancouver entertainers SideOne then get the party moving, and throughout the evening guests are invited to bid on luxurious items in our live and silent auctions.
In celebration of our 60th anniversary, the first 100 ticket purchasers will get an opportunity to name a rescued harbour seal at our Marine Mammal Rescue Centre this year. As a non-profit society, the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre’s signature gala raises funds for critical programs such as the rescue and rehabilitation of more than 100 stranded, sick and injured animals treated at our Marine Mammal Rescue Centre each year.
Other beneficiaries of your support include our Coastal Ocean Research Institute, which conducts ground-breaking research on ocean science, such as our study of endangered southern resident and threatened northern resident killer whales. As well, funds raised will help to sustain our national direct action programs, such as our Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup™ program, presented by Loblaw Companies Limited, which brings together nearly 60,000 Canadians a year to help keep shorelines free of litter, and our national sustainable seafood program, Ocean Wise™, which helps to protect depleting seafood stocks.
A warm thanks is shared with our presenting sponsor, PCL Construction Leaders, and our Gold, Silver and Raffle Sponsors found here.
Get your tickets now, and raise a glass to 60 years of ocean conservation and help build a better future for our blue planet.
